My goodness, why is it that time flies by as you get older.  I have finished Mikey.   The video above is more on that process, but does not include the final finish.  Trying to video my entire process, just proved to be too time consuming.  I was on a deadline to finish and deliver the portrait before his owners headed back home.  But…I promise there will be more videos on pet portraits as I am planning to work on an online pet portrait course over the summer….more details to come later.  Here is a photo of the finished portrait of Mikey…..

I am pleased with the outcome.  I do so love painting portraits of pets, but they are very time consuming.  I’m going to be adjusting my pricing very soon (a nice way of saying, I will be increasing the prices).  I just put in too many hours to continue at the current pricing levels.

We (my husband and I) will be leaving Yuma very soon and starting on a very exciting adventure!  We decided that this year we would travel up the coast of California.  Our first stop will be San Diego and my camera and I plan to spend several days at the zoo.  I definitely will be posting photos and sharing more on our adventures here on my blog.  Many of you know that in addition to this blog, I also have tried to keep a travel blog.  Unfortunately, keeping up with both blogs just has not been possible.  So I am going to be expanding this blog to include not only my artistic endeavors; but also my travels across the United States.  I’ll do my best to keep it interesting and post plenty of photos.  I have a new camera lens and I am very excited to start using it!

  1. Some big and difficult decisions for you. So difficult to give up one thing you love for the Goode of both. ???? Plus pricing. Whew! Can’t wait to see/hear about your adventures on PCH! Two suggestions. One is don’t be shy – enjoy the mud baths in Navisota. Two wine country – take your time. Of course the forests and red woods in northern. So many wonders ahead for you. Oh my gosh! So excited for you both. Can you tell, aside from Arizona, one of my favorite adventures.

  2. Hopefully you will stop at the SKP park Jojoba Hills. Located 17 miles east of Temecula. But be warned that lots of people who have stopped decide that this bit of paradise is where they want to make their wintering home. P.S. We have a art center. We met you at the very first RV Dreams rally. Hope you can make. Leaving for the summer in the middle of May for the east coast.

    1. I just looked this up online…wow…an art center and everything!!! Unfortunately, we already have reservations and a path laid out for the next two weeks. But….we will be in this area next year and we definitely are interested in spending some time there. I would really like to teach a class or two. How difficult is it to get into the park….I noticed it was a first come, first serve system. Thanks and sorry about the late response….for some reason your comment landed in my spam folder and I didn’t catch it till just now. I made sure that will not happen again!
