The Story So Far

Where it all began

I feel so incredibly blessed to have been born with a creative soul.  As a child, I was always looking for ways to create…to build…to imagine.

As a young adult, I took my first painting class at a small ‘mom and pop’ art shop.  It was magical and eventually that same ‘mom and pop’ asked me to begin teaching classes for them.  I cherish every moment of those days. I learned so much from those classes. I learned even more from the students I taught.

When the Art shop closed (the owners retired), I went on to start my own little biz.  For many years, I painted countless murals, decorative pieces, and pet portraits.

The next step of the journey

When my husband retired, we decided to do some traveling.  At the time, we had two adorable wire haired fox terriers.  We knew we didn’t want to be constantly placing them in kennels so we decided the only way for us all to travel together was to purchase an rv.   For twelve years, we called a forty foot fifth wheel home.

What I did next

Traveling and living in such a small space certainly had its challenges at times.  I went from a 1000 sq foot art studio to living and creating in 400 sq feet.   I did still manage to paint, but it was definitely more challenging.  I took my camera everywhere and that became my creative outlet.  I have literally thousands of reference photos!
In 2020, we made the decision to sell the fifth wheel and buy a home.  We now reside in Apollo Beach, Florida.  We loved the southwest…but this is where my mother and father reside….so it was the better choice for us.  I have my own dedicated art studio once more and now I am back at my easel.

The other thing that happened

We added a new addition to our family.  Lucy!  She is an Airedale and let me tell you, they don’t call them the KING of Terriers for nothing.  She is full of spit and vinegar and has been an absolute training nightmare….LOL!  BUT, we love her and we wouldn’t change a thing.

Where I’m going

I continue to learn, to grow and be amazed at the world and animals around me.
Teaching Art is a passion. I feel so blessed to be able to share my knowledge with you all.
I still love my acrylics, but I’ve also started enjoying my oils once again.

The journey never ends. Join me?

I’ve opened a lot of new doors on this artistic journey of mine. Meeting so many fabulous folks along the way.
