Making progress….yes I am! I love that face, the intensity of the eyes. Took me a bit to get those eyes just right, but I’m very happy with them now.
Here is another look…a bit closer. I still have a bit of work to do around her mouth area, but I”m just getting started on the rest of the body. Liking the teal blue behind her…..it suits her personality….that level of intensity she has in everything she does. Hopefully I’ll be finishing this little girl up over the weekend!
And…..here is a sneak peek at what is coming to my easel……I’m so very excited about this…..
I had never actually seen or touched a hairless cat. Yesterday I not only was able to love on this beautiful creature, but I also got some great photos of her. She is so loving and so very soft to the touch….and do you feel that air of mystery that surrounds her. She is an old soul, I think, with much wisdom lurking behind those eyes.
I was also introduced to this guy……was supposed to be hairless, but as you can see he does have a bit of fur. Reminds me a bit of Rosie with that black and white face. He is also very loving, but not quite the ‘old soul’…..he’s very curious and a little unsure of himself…..so very sweet. I will be painting them both….not sure if I will combine them into one painting or do two separate ones. Either way, it is sure to be an adventure…..so many new textures to capture!
Many of you have expressed in interest in Woo commerce…… I still plan on implementing that here on my site. I decided to set up an ‘offline’ version of my site in order to experiment with woo commerce a bit before I launch it here. I’ll tell you how I accomplished that in my next blog.
love it! I agree with other posters that I thought it was photo at first but it so much more rich than a photograph would be. The background color is a great choice too, I feel like I can see the personality coming out through that
Thanks Lyzz! Happy to hear you like the background color. It was a pretty big change for me as I usually paint a more muted color….BUT…that is just not Rosie!
Debbie – Beautiful – You the patience of a saint to paint every little hair! Love those puppy dog eyes. ;). I know someone who recently adopted two hairless cats, same colors. Could it be?
– Cindy
Thank you Cindy
I do so love painting all those little details! As to the kitties, I’m pretty sure they were purchased as kittens from a breeder.
What a beautiful painting! You are truly talented and I can’t wait to see what you do with the hairless cats.
Thank you Melissa….it is a gift I cherish!
Oh I can’t wait to see what you do with these two amazing cats!! BTW, your WooCommerce piece would be great for our discussion on monetizing in the Inspired Blogging Group. Adding a way to sell your products on your site is a great way to monetize. I also use WooCommerce so if you have questions or info to share, consider using the Monetization Mondays thread I’ve added to the group to do so 🙂
Thanks Michele
I will be sure and add what I can about WooCommerce and I appreciate being able to ask questions too! I will be sure and post to the Monday thread.
Rosie is wonderful – such expression. I think it takes a special talent to capture the personality of an animal, especially someone else’s pet! Can’t wait to see the hairless cat! what an interesting animal – such personality!
Thank you so much Vickie, that is a very high compliment! You made my day!
That first hairless cat–it looks less like wisdom lurking behind those eyes, and more like an implacable revenge plot.
Ha! Ha! You may be right about that!
Oh how fabulous your Rosie painting is! And what fun new subjects you have to play with in the future. Can’t wait to more.
Thanks Deborah. I’m looking forward to the challenge of painting a hairless cat!
OMG this painting looks like a photograph! You rock at this painting stuf Debbie! Love it.
Thanks Kelli……I’m very grateful for my artistic gift!
Rosie is looking great! Love her sweet face and pink tum. She does remind me of the dog on the Simpsons, though. The way the white of her eyes are in the inner corner makes her look like her eyes point out. My Sophie’s eyes set that way too . . . Cracks me up. Thanks for posting your progress with sweet Rosie.
Cheers!
Debbie
Thanks Debbie…..yup…those eyes are special!
Rosie looks SENSATIONAL! When I look at her I feel like she is right here with me. I just want to hug her.
Thank you Elda…….and Rosie would just love to cuddle with you too!
Rosie is wonderful. Those eyes are very special. Not sure about the hairless cat. She looks a bit like something out of an Egyptian hieroglyph.
Thanks Linda and yes, I agree those cats do look Egyptian. Maybe that is one of the reasons why I was so drawn in by them. I have always been fascinated by Egyptian Artifacts and history. At one point in my life, I wanted to be an archaeologist!
Debbie, that painting of Rosie is spectacular. I love her eyes, love that curious and active look on her face, and love that teal background. I’ve been teal-hungry for a few days, so that color is like food for my soul.
Can’t wait to see how you paint the texture of those hairless(?) cats. I’ve never had a chance to spend time with hairless cats in person — would love to cuddle with one of them!
Oh Harmony….thank you and I’m enjoying the teal as well! As to those hairless kitties…..you would love them. They are so soft and so affectionate!
Absolutely arresting. Rosie’s alive. I can see her breathe. Surely. Nicely done Debbbie.
Have to confess I’m a bit squeamish when it comes to hairless cats though …
Thanks Kelly…..and I understand about the hairless cats. But…I think if you had the opportunity to actually be around one you would quickly get over that reaction. They are so soft to the touch and those eyes are just mesmerizing!
Wow, Debbie, that Rosie is just amazing. Like I said on FB – it looks like a photo. I mean that as a real compliment. A photo would be much less rich and exciting as this, though!! 😉 Have fun with the rest of it.
Thanks Amy and I took it as a compliment, as I consider myself a ‘photo realist’ especially when it comes to pet portraits. Often times, the photo is all I have to go by so I try to ‘match’ it as closely as possible….enhancing certain attributes, such as the eyes, to truly bring the painting to life!
Debbie, I love the painting of Rosie. What a soulful looking little dog. Thanks for sharing with us. You are so talented!
Thanks Nancy….I so appreciate you stopping by….Rosie is a special little lady!
