YES….I’ve been gone awhile….but I’m back and I have lots to share.

My hubby and I welcomed our beautiful grandson into the world on September 7th…..Max Tiberius Goode.  Feeling so very blessed!  His Mom and Dad had decided on a “Lion King” theme for his nursery so I have been hard at work creating a very special painting for Max.  Being mindful of copyright laws, let me say that this was done as a gift for my grandson and I did not directly ‘copy’ any specific artwork…but I certainly used the characters as my inspiration of this “family portrait”.

This painting was done on a 24″ by 36″ cradled ampersand gessobord with Golden fluid Matt acrylics.  I took a few photos along my ‘painting journey’……..

  1. Now, my word, you have been busy. No wonder it’s been quiet here of late. What a lucky, lucky fellow to have such a talented GiGi in his life. Your Lion King painting is incredible and I love how you painted it on a board and not directly on the wall. Max will have this all his life. Very special indeed. And your sparrow is so alive! I can almost hear him peeping. What’s up next, Debbie?

  2. Hi Debbie,

What a beautiful grandson you have! Oh my. I can see why you’ve been away! I love your bird watercolor!

So you inspired me to take up watercolor. I went through some of your course and then signed up for a live class locally. I’ve really been enjoying it! Watercolor is SO FUN.

    1. Thank you Amy! What an honor it is to have inspired you to try watercolor. I’m woefully behind on updating my classes, but I have another in the works which I will be posting soon!!! Enjoy and please, if I can ever answer any questions don’t hesitate to contact me!
