Is it ever really done…..I think every time I look at this there is always something I want to tweak!  Knowing when to be ‘done’ can be difficult for the perfectionist in me!  However…..I do believe Buster is FINI……what do you think?

Buster-FiniI know the computer washes out the color a bit…..wish you all could see it in person as it is more vibrant!  All I have left to do is a few coats of varnish, which will also deepen and bring out the depth in the layers!  Unfortunately the varnish coat also adds a bit of a sheen, which makes photos difficult.  I so enjoyed painting this little guy and I can’t wait to see him this coming winter out in Arizona!

  1. I can’t hardly wait to see the portrait & you & Bill. Debbie, your work is absolutely fabulous. I’m so thrilled we met & I commissioned you for this adorable little guy. He truly is my best friend!

  2. I LOVE this. He’s gorgeous. I think he’s done. My son is an artist and I often will take a photo and post it to FB or something – it drives him crazy how it doesn’t always translate to the screen. I understand the perfectionist coming out. But from my point of view he’s perfect.

    1. Thanks Sara! Lucky you to have a son who is an artist! Yes….those camera shots and computer screens can me maddening!

    1. Thanks Kelly……Yes, he is a bit of a wise, old man. Sometimes when I look into those eyes, I get the feeling he knows so much more of life and wonders why we struggle so…..when all ya gotta do is ‘enjoy the ride’!

    1. Thank you Kimberley….I’m so glad you stopped by and left a comment. Looking forward to your next visit!

  3. Buster is wonderful. The detail of his fur and his eyes just really make it special. Lucky Buster to have a portrait artist like you!
