TulipsTulips….that for me always says Spring has arrived…a time of new and fresh beginnings.  I know at lot of folks see January 1 as their ‘new beginning’ and New Year’s Resolutions abound, but Spring has always spoken to me.  That burst of color…..the animals busy building their spring homes….and the “chatter” of all those critters meeting and greeting…it’s just so ‘alive’!

Breath it in…..it’s energizing!

So what am I doing with all this ‘Springtime’ energy…..creating of course!  Now that I have my little artist studio set up, I’ll be putting brush to paint bringing Buster back to my easel.  I’m also very excited to do a little experimenting with a new surface and a new paint medium.  I just purchased some illustration board  by  Strathmore.  I have missed my watercolors.  In paring down my artist supplies, I had made the decision to stick with just my acrylics.  Lately though I’ve been having this ‘whispering’ if you will to play with watercolors.  I had been looking at buying some watercolors when I ran across a new paint medium which, when mixed with my acrylic is supposed to give them all of the attributes of a watercolor pigment.  Sounded interesting and definitely worth a shot!  I’ll let you know how that all works out…

squirrelSo…here’s to Spring and all its energy and life!
