I’m going to be running a little experiment later this week with a “new to me” product called “TAP”.  TAP stands for Transfer Artist Paper.  You are supposed to be able to transfer your designs onto almost any surface, but it works best on fabric.  I love to paint, but I also love to sew.  I have been trying to figure out a way to combine my paintings with my sewing.   My major stumbling block has been finding a way to transfer my paintings to fabric.  I have tried several of the printable fabric sheets that you can run through your printer and have just not been satisfied with the results.  The colors just are not as vivid and the details not as crisp.  TAP is an iron on process…once you print your image onto the TAP surface, you then use a hot iron to transfer it to the fabric.  The printer inks and the special coating on the paper go down into and bond with the fabric.  That bonding process supposedly keeps the colors vivid and the details crisp.  It also is supposed to be more durable to the normal wear and tear of everyday living.  So, I’m going to give it a go.  I’ve got some great ideas in my head for pillows, purses, and even a cuff style bracelet.  I’ll keep you in the loop as to how this all goes…..wish me luck!
