I decided to share a bit of beauty with you today.  This is Palo Duro Canyon State Park in Texas.  We stayed here a few days….talk about God’s country…..I’ve never felt so close to Him as I did here…..take a look…..it’s breathtaking!

As beautiful as it is during the day, you should see it at night.  The stars fill the sky and the night creatures welcome the darkness.

It gave me goosebumps

  1. For years my husband and I have been planning to be fulltime RVers/explorers when we retire. Your photos just whet my whistle! Thanks for sharing a bit of your current landscape!

  2. My only experience of Texas was the San Antonio area when I went through Air Force Basic Training–not the best introduction to a state! I remember (as I think many of my fellow trainees do) being how surprised how green it was in the area since most of us knew it from the movies that made it look like desert country.

    1. Yes, I was equally surprised to find the rock formations of the canyon….what I knew and saw of Texas was nothing but FLAT!

  3. It certainly is beautiful. When we went traveled to see the Grand Canyon the scenery was breathtakingly awesome. I guess that’s the closet I’ve ever been to Texas. It’s on the list for someday. 🙂

    1. I think I read somewhere that the Palo Duro Canyon is the 2nd largest in the US with the Grand Canyon being first of course!

  4. I love seeing these outdoor pictures! So refreshing. Did you neighbor stay long? What is the little critter called? I missed 18 or 19 years of be able to go to Texas, when my parents would winter there…LOOK what I MISSED!

    1. I’m not sure what that little guy is called and no….he was gone in a flash! Yes….for most of my life all I knew of Texas was the Dallas area….not a big fan. But then we stumbled across this little jewel it was ‘love at first sight’ so happy we were able to spend a few days there….it was magical!
