We left Indiana November the 8th and our currently in Mayo, Florida on our way to Tampa for the Thanksgiving Holiday.  I wanted to share a bit of what we did while we were in Indiana….(besides welcoming our new grandson into the world) we were also helping my son ready his new shop for his biz…Crawlspace Remediation.

Here are a few photos of our work….

galvinized-walls

We were going for that ‘industrial look’ so here in the bath area we did a couple of walls with Galvanized, corrugated metal.  Trimmed out with natural cedar.  I think it turned out great!

To carry the theme through to the office area, I made valances out of the same material.  Again….LOVE it!

Of course, before we got to all the ‘fun’ stuff we had to prime and paint all the walls.  That was no easy task because the previous tenants had done some ‘painting’ of their own.  Some type of cartoon work….thick, heavy lines which needed lots of sanding.  We never did get them to completely go away, but you really have to look hard to see them now.  We are still working on adding some more character to the place….including a desk fashioned out of black iron piping.  The place is gonna be a ‘show stopper’ when it is done.  Both Billy and I are exhausted, but it is well worth the effort!

Thanks for all the Birthday Wishes!  Mom and I had a fabulous time celebrating in Las Vegas…..

For all my students….I did manage to get all my videos for the Watercolor Sparrow ready for publication.  I plan on making them available in the classroom before we leave here on Wednesday!  I also have a video on prepping your watercolor paper ready for release so keep an eye out for that as well.  I appreciate your patience.

  1. What an interesting solution you all came up with for home design, Debbie. No doubt these additions will become big conversation pieces. It’s wonderful you can enjoy time with your mom as a peer. That’s a special relationship. Those photos of the two of you together are priceless.

  2. Wow – you have been busy. It’s a worthy, worthy kind of busy. You are truly gifted, Debbie. Love the galvanized corrugated metal. So clever and clean looking. I checked out your son’s site, too and I truly hope he does well. And that trip to Vegas with your mom? You both look as if you’re having the time of your lives. Is it true that what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas? Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, Debbie. I look forward to seeing more photos!

    1. Thanks Kelly! We did have a fabulous time, as to “what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas”, I don’t think that hold true much anymore…..LOL! To many smart phones with cameras!
