You might have noticed that things are a little different around here.  I decided my site needed a little facelift and I wanted to combine my web site with my blog.  I’m fairly pleased with the results…still have a bit of tweaking to do here and there.  I’ll also be adding some more features in the near future!

Ok, enough about that stuff….I had a simply wonderful day at the Cincinnati Zoo yesterday.  I thought I might share a bit of it with you all here today.

  1. My goodness….thank you for the lovely compliments! I’m so happy you found inspiration in my photos!

  2. Debbie I watch with an open mouth the beautiful photo’s on your website! The pictures of the ZOO animals, make me wanna draw and gave me lots of inspiration. Thank you verry much!

  3. Love your new look. Clean and clear and simple – :-)! And – what a wonderful day spent at the zoo!!

  4. (I hope this doesn’t appear twice–not sure what happened that first time, sorry!) This morning I was looking at images of the Manatees from Motes Marina, wishing I was still there, and now that I’ve seen the images from your blog post, I wish I could be THERE! Great shots! Next time I am in the area, Debbie I simply must go visit your zoo!

    1. No…it did not appear twice…who knows this internet thing can be quite unreasonable at times! Yes…I promise you would not be disappointed! I’ve love zoos and have been to several and this is definitely one of my favorites. Also….did you know that many zoos participate in reciprocal membership programs. You can buy a yearly membership pass at one zoo and be admitted by other reciprocal zoos at a discount usually half price!

  5. Lovely clean up Debbie. Fresh and simple. I like it. Your polar bear shot is amazing. Our zoo used to have polar bears and we’d visit almost every Sunday. There was never much action in the polar bear area however. They just sat there schlumped. We now have a grizzly bear habitat on the top of a local mountain where two orphaned grizzlies live together. It’s quite cool as it’s a natural setting and half the time they are buried in the woods and you can’t see them. However, when they are out they are really playful. Often see them wrestling in the pond.

    1. Thank you Kelly! Oh….I would love to see those grizzlies at play! I too usually find polar bears a sleep…just got lucky that day! Must have been the smell of spring in the air because most of the animals were very playful that day!

    1. Hi Nancy…..I just found a new wordpress theme called Swank. It comes from Pretty Darn Cute Designs. Once you purchase…she has great tutorials for setting it up and an awesome ‘help’ desk. They almost always get back to me within 24 hours of me posting my question. Glad you like it! Thanks

  6. Love the Spring freshening! And what a fun visit it looks like you had at the zoo. I had to laugh at the napping orangutan – how peacefully pleased s/he seems. We all need more of that in our lives don’t we? And I’m seriously considering what I can do to get some stylish new ears now. Who knew ears could be so awesome?

    1. Yes….those ears are quite the attention getter….lol! I know I most certainly will try to capture them and him on my easel….one day soon! Glad you like the new look….thanks so much for stopping by!

  7. Looks great! It’s easy to read and really shows off your photos. Like it a lot. Also like those ears on the hippo? Not sure what/who that is. lol

    1. I know….gotta love those ears! Thanks for the compliments on the new site design…it is a bit of a work in progress, but I like where it is heading!

  8. I noticed the changes and am thrilled! It’s so much easier to read your posts now that they’re in a wider format. Would love to know how you went about the change. New theme?

I just adore your photos from the zoo — especially the parrots! And the hairy-eared rhino! <3

    1. Thanks Harmony! Yeppers, I using a new theme called Swank from Pretty Darn Cute Designs….but I also went into the appearance editor and changed the color codes. There are also some other features available with this theme, but right now I’m opting to ‘keep it simple’!
