Sassy 4

Sassy WIP

Here is part 4 of my little grand-doggie Sassy!  I think she is looking fabulous…obviously I still have some work to do, but I think I have captured her sweet expression and those beautiful bright eyes.  I’ve captured all the “highs” and  “lows” of the bone structure now just need to soften the blends a bit.  Still defining the area above the left eye, left ear, and of course the muzzle area.   Remember questions and comments are always welcome here!

Sassy 3

WIP Sassy

                      Have not had a lot of time to spend at my easel, but here is what I accomplished yesterday.  I’m pretty happy with the placement of my shadows and highlights, now it is just a matter of getting everything to blend smoothly together.  I did notice a few areas got a little dark so I am in the process of “lightening” them up a bit.  I’m also finding I’m {Read More}

Sassy….2

Sassy Painting In Progress

                      Here we are and I have to say I’m pretty pleased with the progress.  Blocking in the highs and lows to establish the contours of the face.  The nose is looking great…I do need to make an adjustment on the left nostril, the bottom of it is a little high compared to the right side.  Amazing what you see when you take a photo of your work in progress.  {Read More}

Leopard and Sassy

Leopard Painting 2

I have been working on the leopard and I am just not happy with the way things are going…..                   The nose seems to be a major stumbling point for me….it is just not quite right.  I decided to take a bit of a break from this painting and work on something a little more familiar.  The leopard will be back….I just need some time away.  Also I have signed up to {Read More}

New Painting, “Leopard”

Leopard Reference

It has taken me some time, but I am finally back at my easel.  Here is the photo I will be working from for my next painting.  I’m proud to say this is my photography too….I captured this at a zoo I was visiting.  I couldn’t believe how lucky I was to get this photo Isn’t he/she a beauty!  This will be a challenging painting for me.  First of all it is large…for me.  This painting will be 16×20 done {Read More}

Faith

I just spent three of the most incredible days with some fellow artist, Amy Wilson Cavaness and Linda Kinnaman.  Caring, sharing, lots of laughter, and a few tears.  I learned so much about them and so much about myself.  A blog challenged was issued……to blog about something that is a bit uncomfortable for us to share….so here goes…. Many of my fellow artist are aware of Julia Cameron and her book called “The Artist’s Way.  I am currently reading another {Read More}

Birch Run Michigan

Yes, I have been quiet lately.  We have been moving around quite a bit of late.  Having repairs and upgrades made to our little home on wheels and now doing a bit of site seeing.  We are currently in Frankenmuth Michigan.  A quaint little tourist town of German heritage.  Here is a photo of the park and our home in our site.  We have been here since last Monday, enjoying the town of Frankenmuth.  Yesterday I took several photos of {Read More}

Bench Fini!

Finished Bench

The bench is finished…..well, almost.  The blue tape is holding the corners while the glue continues to dry.  I will also be making a nice cushion and a few more pillows for the seating area.  I’m so proud of the job that hubby and I did on this project.  We really took our time and it shows!  We have never built anything like this before….and we learned so much!  Plus it has awesome storage capability!  Something you are always in {Read More}

Bench Project Part 1

Bench Framework

I’m afraid the bench project is taking more time to complete than either myself or my husband thought it would.  Here is the basic framework.   Hopefully I will have completed photos for Monday’s post. This bench project has really given me the decorating bug!  I’m dying to re do the whole interior of our fifth wheel.  New window treatments, new paint color for the walls….I just wish I had the time to do it.  We will be heading up {Read More}

A different kinda project….

Normally I would be sharing whatever is on my easel with you all today…..BUT, sadly my easel is empty at the moment.  I have been busy helping my son paint his living room and kitchen and thank goodness that is done.  My hubby and I have now turned our attentions to another home dec project….this one is for us.  We are building ourselves a custom storage bench.  Yesterday we bought our materials and today the “fun” begins!  I’ll be sure {Read More}
